Nora Davis Magnet School offers accelerated academics in grades first through fifth. Four year old kindergarten through fifth grade is taught on or above grade level. Students attend art, music, creative movement, technology and physical education classes thirty to forty-five minutes weekly. We offer an on-site media center for student and faculty use, as well as a Gifted Studies program. Students must sign an academic/behavioral contract before attending Nora Davis.

Nora Davis Magnet School was selected as the School of Excellence by the Mississippi Alliance for Arts Education in 2004. We were a Level 5 Superior Performing School for 5 years. We were a Master School for Reading Renaissance for 5 years. We have won the PREPS Value Added Award for 9 years.

Nora Davis Magnet School was chosen as the 2007 recipient of the Governor's Award for Arts in Education.  We are also a Model School for the Mississippi Arts Commision Whole Schools Initiative. 

Nora Davis Magnet School is a Title I Distinguished School and a Citywide Art winner. The school is brightly decorated with teaching murals in the hallways and the cafeteria. We are open to all students residing in the Laurel School district.
